Charles 'Kenny' Copeland

Charles Kent (Kenny) Copeland passed away at his home surrounded by his family on November 28, 2013. Memorial services were held on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 2:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Robert Kirk officiating.
Kenny was born in Levelland, TX to Billy and Marcia Copeland on April 20, 1956. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Deer, elk, axis, and even rattlesnakes were a few of his favorite game. He could sit for hours with nothing but a fishing pole and the outdoors. Kenny would always make sure that his family was involved, even when the boys would eat his salmon eggs while fishing instead of using them for bait. When not hunting or fishing, he greatly enjoyed walking around the wilderness while looking for Indian artifacts. He was caring and kind-hearted, always making people smile and laugh and never meeting a stranger. Loved to have fun and play tricks, which meant you had to stay on your toes and be ready to get scarred or joked with. Everyone who met him never forgot him. Above all, he loved his family. He always encouraged us to do our best and was always there rooting us on. He will most definitely be remembered for wearing his bulldog suit while cheering on the MHS football team. On July 12, 1986, Kenny married the love of his life, Debra Wiggins in Big Spring, Texas. Together they raised two sons, Chance and Jordan. His happiest times where taking his boys from one adventure to another. He spent many years working for Tom Brown. He also spent some time employed at Anthony Sign Company, Chalmers Sign Company and Permian Sign Company. Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Debra Copeland of Midland; son, Chance Copeland and wife, Claire of Midland; son, Jordan Copeland of Midland; granddaughter, Caroline Copeland of Midland; sister, Faith McKinney of Arizona; brother, David Copeland of Tyler, Texas; sister, Elizabeth Utzman of Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Janet Wiggins of Big Spring; brother-in-law, Cary Wiggins and wife, Mindy of Big Spring; uncle, Don Gooch of Big Spring; niece, Kaitlyn Wiggins of Big Spring; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
